Hill Bible says "Cara" for middle name, but Ruby says it is "Cary"
He said he lived with Aunt Lou Hill Davis after his mother died and until his father remarried, but he is not listed on the 1900 census with her (or anywhere)

Grandpa went to Wichita and Burdett, Kansas and made $3.00 per day harvesting wheat before he married
He used to ford the White river (pre-lake) to see Bessie.

Andoes hired a horse and buggy to take Louis and Bessie to the courthouse, where they were married (The driver was the witness.) They stopped at school to tell Robert and Etta goodbye, then got the train for Twin Falls.  They stayed one night in the Perrine hotel and Louis got a job the next day for the Burkhalters.  He said he didn't know how to irrigate, but he knew how to work.

farmed by Milner dam 1935 to the winter of 1942-43 when they bought 320 acre farm north of Shoshone for $10,000.  Grew potatoes and milked cows.

2. Mary Louise COUCH

Mary Koeppen was born in Eden, Idaho on August 14, 1928 to Bessie and Louis Couch.  She grew up in the Milner area and moved to Shoshone where she completed high school. There she married Kenneth Koeppen in 1947. They were blessed with two children Lillian and Kent.  They lived for six years in Danner, Illinois and returned to Idaho in 1955. They lived in the Melba area until 1961 when they farmed the Smeed Farm.  The family enjoyed many hours of water skiing on Lake Lowell.  Mary worked for Lakeys and was a deputy treasurer for Canyon County.  Mary & Kenneth purchased the Couch family farm in 1973 in Shoshone.  Mary worked with Kenneth as his “right hand-hand.”  
  Mary enjoyed helping to raise her five grandchildren:  Kim, Jody, Kurtis, Andrew and Nate.  Mary attended rodeos, sports events, and loved watching her grandkids compete in these events.  Kenneth and Mary followed the Shoshone sports teams to the state tournaments.  
  She also loved to travel with Kenneth and later went to Alaska, Hawaii, and New England, and across the country with Mike and Lillian.
 Mary is preceded in death by Kenneth, her parents, brothers Bob and Carl.  She is survived by her brother Ray Couch, children Lillian (Mike) Pierce of Nampa and Kent Koeppen of Challis, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren – with two more coming this spring.
 Graveside Services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11:30 AM at Shoshone Cemetery, in Shoshone, Idaho.  Memorials can be sent to the Shoshone Scholarship fund or Shoshone Senior Center.  Condolences can be given at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com


2. Roy Harold COUCH

Roy was born Sept 5, 1930 at 900S/1700E in Eden Idaho to Louis and Bessie Couch. He was the youngest of 4 children. Bob, Carl, Mary, and Roy. In 1935, the family moved north of Milner Dam at E1300S and Steel Ranch Rd and Roy started school. He had to walk across Milner Dam to school in Milner. In 1942, the family moved to a farm north of Shoshone.

Roy graduated in 1948, sold all his cows, bought a car and went to Sisters, Oregon to log timber. He got his first horse when he was 7, which lead to a life of cowboying, rodeos, breaking and shoeing horses. In 1950, he married Marilyn Moates, and had 3 wonderful children, Robin, Randy, and Blake. Roy worked for the State Highway Dept. in Shoshone from 1958 to 1970.

From 1970-1985, he had a cattle ranch in Melon Valley on Rock Creek below Buhl. In 1986, Roy met and married Hazel Ash, the love of his life, moved to Kimberly, and all of a sudden, he had another daughter, Jennie. Hazel taught Roy to bowl and the rest is history. They bowled together for over 25 years. Roy and Hazel eventually bought a house in Filer, Idaho, where they lived for the rest of their days.

Roy is survived by his 4 children and their spouses, 19 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, September 19, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Rd. The Funeral Service will take place Thursday, September 20, at 2:00 p.m. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home.

George Rowland Farnworth
"In Loving Memory" George Rowland Farnworth, age 90, of Fillmore, UT passed away March 2, 2005. Born March 20, 1914 in Chilly, Idaho. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Leavitt Bracken Farnworth; children, Shirlene (Perry) Hutchings of Fillmore, UT, Raymond (Barbara) Farnworth of Arlington, WA., Arlene (Brent) McGregor of Springville, UT. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral service: Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fillmore 4th Ward, Fillmore, Utah. Visitation: Tuesday, 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral. Interment: Veyo Cemetery, Veyo Utah.

3. Byron Eugene (Barney) FARNWORTH

Byron Eugene Farnworth, 75, of Provo, died Friday, August 30, 1991 at his home.

He was born August 7, 1916 in Blackfoot, Idaho, a son of George Cyrus and Eva Isabelle Candland Farnworth. He married Grace Walker August 25, 1938 in Provo, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died January 31, 1983. Mr. Farnworth served in World War II as a member of the CCC's and in the Army. He was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic and worked for a number of construction companies. He was an active High Priest in the LDS Church and had served as an ordinance worker in the Los Angeles, Provo and Salt Lake Temples.

Survivors include; two sons and three daughters, Blaine Farnworth, Orem; Ty Farnworth, Joan ''Becky'' Farnworth, both of Provo; Mrs. Edward (Rita) Hales, Spanish Fork; Mrs. Dale (Eileen) Bott, West Jordan; 22 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; two brothers, and three sisters, George Farnworth, Mammoth; Hershel Candland, California; Rhea Reynolds, Provo; Lola Walters, Portland, Oregon; and Lila Farnworth, Orem. He was preceded by two sons, Burton and Byron ''Mugs'' Farnworth.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 3, 11 a.m. in the Provo Lakeside 8th Ward Chapel, 131 South 1600 West. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State, Orem, and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the ward chapel. Burial will be in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Salt Lake City.

3. Hershel Cleon FARNWORTH Candland

Hershel Cleon Candland was born in Blackfoot, Idaho to Walter Roland and Sarah Christensen Candland on January 14, 1924. He rode a horse to school, which was in a one-room schoolhouse. At a young age he went to England with the US Army Air Force to serve in World War II. Once he was discharged, he began a sign painting apprenticeship. Hershel hung signs until he was 87 years old. One of his expertise was theater fronts.

Hershel's main loves in life were family, painting, politics, music and the gospel. He is best known for his friendliness and sense of humor. His example of hard work and service is lived on through his wife, three children, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

"We all love you and miss you very much!"

Services and Military Rites will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 12:00 pm at the Greenslake Chapel located at 1177 West Greenslake Drive in Cedar City, Utah. Family and friends may call from 11:00-12:00 pm prior to the services at the Church. Arrangements are being handled by Southern Utah Mortuary


3. Lila Maude FARNWORTH

Lila Maude Farnworth left our world January 29, 2008, at Orchard Park Care Center in Orem, with her loving sisters by her side, after a valiant battle against many extended illnesses. She was born in Gridley, CA the last of 12 children of Cyrus and Eva Isabelle Farnworth 9 of whom have preceded her in death, as well as her husband George Q. Farnworth. She is survived by 2 sisters Lola Walters of Boise, ID and Rea Reynolds of Provo, UT and a son Wallace Cardwell and grandchildren.
We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Orchard Park for their kind and loving care for Lila and her family.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 1, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. in the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street in Orem. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the East Lawn Cemetery.
